Fashion week

Fly to New York in time for Fashion Week

In just over a week the fashion event of the year will fly to New York to kick off the four weeks of fashion that everybody’s talking about. From 7th February New York will be buzzing with style icons, fashionistas and designers eager to see the trends for Autumn/Winter 2013.

Talks and gossip have already hit the rumour mill as everybody tries to find out what surprises New York Fashion Week will have in store for us this year. Top of the talk is the rumour that superstar Rihanna will be unveiled as the new face of Chanel at Fashion Week next week. Another rumour generating quite a lot of buzz is the claim that Katie Holmes will not be returning to the runway this year to showcase her new collection for Holmes & Yang.

Rumours that John Galliano will make his return to the catwalk at NYFW this year have been confirmed as the designer announced he was taking up temporary residency at Oscar de la Renta’s studio in The Big Apple. Galliano was fired as creative director at Dior in 2011 and there has been much debate since he left as to the whether he would return to the runway or not.

Regardless of whether the catwalk rumours transpire to be true or not, one thing is certain, this year’s Fashion Week will be bigger than ever, with new names showing for the first time and iconic and respected fashion houses showing New York what they are made of.

Fashion Week will be in New York from the 7th – 14th February before moving to London then Milan and finishing in Paris on the 6th March.
