Fly to New York for the world’s best bars

Seeing the sights and hitting the shops are two great ways to soak up the unique NYC atmosphere, but the bars in the Big Apple give visitors the chance to really rub shoulders with the locals. The streets of New York provide something for everyone, from the flash connoisseur to the budget bar-hopper, and are lined with dives, bars, clubs and pubs all eager to quench your thirst!

However, as the name would suggest the Big Apple is easy to get lost in and there’s nothing worst then ending up in a touristy bar paying double prices for your drinks. Thankfully, we’re on hand to help, so join us as we take a look at the best bars anyone flying to New York should try this year!

Best Brooklyn Bar
Brooklyn

Brooklyn is becoming an increasingly popular and hip part of New York - attracting a young, trendy crowd seven nights a week. Bushwick, Brooklyn is an area that has changed dramatically over the past decade and is also home to the Gotham City Lounge, a Mecca for all comic book nerds. Sip on whiskey priced as low as $3 and soak up the charm of this small dive in Brooklyn.

Best Soho Bar
Cosmopolitan

Those of you looking for an out-of-this-world cocktail need look no further than New York’s thriving Soho area. For a night you won’t forget head to Pegu Club on Houston Street and try one of its famous Earl Grey MarTEAnis or sample one of the re-tweaked classics also available on the menu.

Best Midtown Bar
RattleNHum

Home to some of the city’s most iconic sights, you’ll probably find yourself in the Midtown area many times during your trip. If all the sightseeing has you itching for a pint then head to the Rattle n’ Hum between Fifth and Madison Avenue for one of the finest selections of beers you’ll find in the city.

Best East Village Bar
Margarita

NYC’s East Village has long been a hub for bars and restaurants, offering an eclectic mix of high end bars and budget beer holes. Lovers of tequila that are willing to spend a little bit more should visit Mayahuel for some of the best aged tequilas you’ll ever find. Stay nearby at the 5 star Millennium Hilton for 3 nights and save £70 per person from the 29August- 20October.

Best Astoria Bar
Bohemian Hall

If you’re looking for a daytime refreshment then head to Bohemian Hall and Beer Garden in Astoria, Queens. The bar and beer garden has an authentic European feel to it, serving up platters of sausage and offering a truly fantastic range of both European and American beers.
