In light of the terrible weather battering Britain in recent weeks, the Jamaica Tourist Board has taken the opportunity to encourage Brits to treat themselves to a getaway in the sun.
The start of the year can really take its toll, with temperatures plummeting throughout January and much of the country either blanketed in snow and frost, or being rained down on from the heavens. With half-term holidays approaching fast, a break from the harsh winter weather and short daylight hours will be on the minds of many a family.
Jamaica promises year-round sunshine, warm sea and over 175 tourist attractions. It represents a value for money option for those seeking an escape at this time of the year, and its popularity is sure to continue.
There is a wealth of activities and attractions for families with kids, making it the ideal half-term destination. Take a dip in the famous Dunn’s River Falls, one of Jamaica’s national treasures, or perhaps take a “Cool Runnings”-inspired bobsled ride, or zipline through the treetop canopy at Mystic Mountain. Or if you’re feeling less adventurous, perhaps just head to one of the many outstanding beaches, boasting clear waters and beautiful white sands, and soak up the sun.
Whatever you choose to do to entertain yourselves, Jamaica is the perfect place to chase away the winter blues and recharge your batteries this half-term.
