Explore South Africa: The country with everything

As the days get shorter and the weather turns colder in Blighty South Africa is gearing up for a sizzling summer, making it a perfect choice for an autumn getaway this year.

With several great cities, hundreds of fantastic beaches and endless activities available, it’s near impossible to find any reason not to visit the African holiday hotspot. What’s more, on top of its already massive appeal we’re currently offering some great deals on South African holidays which are sure to tempt you further!

Safari
Steenbok

Of course there’s no point talking about South Africa without mentioning Safari – one of the country’s biggest attractions. The most popular place to go on Safari in South Africa is the world famous Kruger National Park, which is home to an overwhelming variety of animals.

Save 15 per cent with DialAFlight from the 29th October until the 4th December on a seven day wildlife trip and stay in luxury four star accommodation just outside the park. What’s more, you can visit the kingdom of Swaziland and experience an authentic Zulu homestead on your trip, to get a taste of Zulu culture.

Those of you who feel like spending a bit more on a safari could also visit one of South Africa’s many private game reserves. Kapama Private Game Reserve promises the ‘Big 5’ African animals, which are Lions, buffaloes, rhino, elephants and leopards, and is a must-visit for those with a love for wildlife.

Beaches
Cape Town Beach

Beaches are yet another reason to head out to South Africa. Whether you seek a beach for sun, surfing or sand, South Africa’s beaches accommodate all needs and as it has reverse seasons, there’s never been a better time to visit them!
Muizenberg beach huts

Though you’ll be spoiled for choice, it’s worthwhile checking out Durban’s beaches if you’re in the area. The beachfront has recently been renovated, meaning the beaches are as pristine as can be and the facilities are fantastic.
Long Beach

Of course if you’re staying in Cape Town then Long Beach is a must. This stretch of shoreline is truly incredible, and after a long day out in the sun you’ll find plenty of lively bars to quench your thirst in the evening.

Cities
Cape Town Waterfront

South Africa’s cities alone provide a perfect reason to visit the country, and with the rand currently weak, why not make the most and hit the town! If it’s nightlife you’re looking for then Cape Town is a must, with dozens of great bars and an awesome atmosphere all year round.
Johannesburg

Johannesburg is the largest city in South Africa, so naturally is filled with things to do and places to explore. What’s more the Cradle of Humankind, a UNESCO World Heritage Site is just 16 miles northwest of the city.
Pretoria

Durban is another SA city worthwhile visiting, especially for the beaches, but if you’re looking for somewhere more laid back then Pretoria is the spot for you. Packed with small, independent shops, quaint markets and with a vintage feel, Pretoria is a brilliant alternative to the more tourist-focused South African cities.

Wine
Waterford Estate, SA

The vineyards of South Africa have been producing some of the world’s best wines for years, and you’d be mad not to visit a vineyard to try out these wines at the source. Book a wine tasting trip with us departing from the 15th till the 24th January 2014 and save 15 per cent with South African Airways.
Wine Tasting, SA

A great way to explore the country’s wine regions is by car, and South Africa is a really easy destination for a driving holiday, with clear roads and signage throughout the country. However, if driving is not for you then why not take the tram tour, where you can hop on and off at different vineyards to sample all that South Africa has to offer!
