The 2013 World Airline Awards has awarded Emirates the coveted title of ‘World’s Best Airline.’ The airline also picked up awards for ‘Best Middle East Airline’ and ‘World’s Best Inflight Entertainment.’
Emirates, based in Dubai, flies routes all over the world. Tim Clark, president of the airline, collected the awards on behalf of Emirates at the Paris Airshow on Tuesday. This is the ninth consecutive year the airline has won best inflight entertainment at the awards, presented by Skytrax.
“Being honoured with these awards is testament to our unrelenting effort to be the world’s best airline,” said Clark. “We are constantly striving to offer our customers consistent, world-class service that extends from the moment they make their booking to the moment they arrive home at the end of their journey.”

Qatar Airways came in second in the World’s Best Airline category, followed by Singapore Airlines, ANA All Nippon Airways and Asiana Airlines in third, fourth and fifth, respectively. jetBlue Airways won Best Regional Airline in North America, while LAN Airline won best in South America.
British Airways came in fourth in the Best Airlines in Europe Category, being beaten by Turkish Airlines in first and Lufthansa and Swiss in second and third, respectively. Air Asia was awarded the title of World’s Best Low-Cost Airline, beating Jetstar Airways and Virgin America to the top spot.
